Psychiatric illnesses such as depression and anxiety disorders and bipolar disorder are common in our society. In fact, an estimated 61.5 million Americans 18 years and older experience a diagnosable mental illness in a given year.
That is why Signature is dedicated to providing access to quality care, comprehensive services in a safe, nurturing environment that is conducive to healing and recovery, and an extensive continuum that offers progressively less-restrictive levels of care as patients progress through treatment and learn to manage the illnesses that affect their lives.
Signature Psychiatric Hospital is a 24-bed behavioral health unit serving the adult population. We are conveniently located just north of downtown in North Kansas City. Our services are for treatment and stabilization of patients in crisis. Patients will be evaluated and treated by our team of psychiatrists, nurses, social workers and therapists.
Signature offers comprehensive behavioral healthcare and treats a wide variety of mental illnesses including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, suicidal or homicidal thoughts as well as medical detoxification from drugs and alcohol.
At Signature we provide treatment that is both immediate and effective. Patients are seen by a psychiatrist upon admission, and in collaboration with our social workers and therapists, are given an individualized treatment plan to meet their specific needs.
We realize that the struggles of daily life can become overwhelming, and that most of the people we treat will need more than just medication to manage them. We offer a holistic approach that treats the mind, body, and spirit through programs like yoga, music, art, and recreational therapy. We want to give our patients hope and provide the tools, treatment, and resources necessary to ensure their success while they are in our facility as well as after they leave.
Signature also offers programs for patients transitioning back into the community who do not require the level of care that an inpatient stay may require. Our Intensive Outpatient Program meets for three hours a day, three days a week. In order to better serve our patients, these programs are also offered for adults in Lenexa, Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs and North Kansas City and for adolescents in Overland Park, Gladstone, and Blue Springs.
